Today’s society is a society that needs information, where space and time are not a barrier to getting all the information needed. Smart City is the application of the smart city concept with the use of technology and communication to realize better community services. The Smart City concept will also increase community and government participation in utilizing application data, providing input and criticism easily. This activity was also enlivened by dance art from the STIA LAN Jakarta Polytechnic Dance Student Activity Unit (UKM) which performed the Genjring Betawi dance.
Professor Seung-Hwan Myeong talked about South Korea’s experience in building e-government or digital government. Dr. Myeong said that Indonesia has the opportunity to become a developed country thanks to the rapidly growing e-government in Indonesia. Myeong also said that knowledge transfer must be implemented so that Indonesia is not dependent on technology supplies from certain countries.
The second speaker, Professor Paula, talked about the importance of open government. Open government can encourage participation, accountability, equality, and effectiveness. Paula said that Indonesia is part of the Open Government Partnership countries, which want to build a culture of public openness and collaborative governance.
